HOWTO: Plone: Configuring a Plone site
Here are the first few things I always do with a new Plone site
- Most of the time, you won't want just anybody to be able to join your site. Close the site so people can't add themselves as users.
- I usually want to hide unpublished content from anonymous users. Make sure you read all the comments in Displaying only published items to anonymous users.
- You will probably want to change the portlet setup. Instructions can be found in Controlling portlets.
- I usually prefer to turn off the log in link in the personal toolbar. I cover this in a seperate post, How to turn off the log in link in the personal toolbar.
